Project Summary

The new state-of-the-art remediation facilities at the North Hollywood Central Response Action Treatment Facility and Tujunga Well Field Response Action Treatment Facility will address historical groundwater contamination resulting from post-WWII and Cold War industrial operations. This cleanup will protect public health and support the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s (LADWP) goals to reduce dependence on imported water.
The projects include the installation of advanced pretreatment automatic backwash strainers, ten large ultraviolet advanced oxidation process reactors, 54 granular activated carbon units, and extensive piping and electrical infrastructure. The objective is to restore beneficial use of the San Fernando Groundwater Basin and enhance groundwater quality by treating over 25,000 acre-feet of water annually.
TQF will provide materials testing and environmental inspection services to ensure project success. Our materials testing will identify potential issues with the materials used, while our environmental testing will monitor the project's impact on the surrounding environment, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
