Project Summary

The purpose of this project is to improve traffic flow by expanding the existing bridge. This project will replace the 81-year-old bridge with a new 1,200-foot-long bridge that features structural, seismic, and hydraulic state-of-the-art design. The project will also widen Hamner Avenue to three lanes in each direction from Alhambra Street to Schliemann Road, creating a six-lane thoroughfare from Norco through Eastvale to accommodate the region's rapidly growing population. The new bridge over the Santa Ana River will include a four-foot-wide median and shoulders, along with a new 12-foot-wide separated multi-purpose trail on the east side of the bridge.
