Air Products is undertaking a major expansion project worth $2.5 billion to generate sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at the Paramount, California location of World Energy. This facility is the only commercial-scale SAF production site in North America and the world's first. As part of this initiative, Air Products has extended its hydrogen pipeline network in Southern California to supply hydrogen to the existing World Energy facility, boosting supply reliability for all its Southern California-based hydrogen pipeline network customers. This extended network will also allow for the delivery of low- or zero-carbon hydrogen in the future. The project is a significant step in Air Products' commitment to supporting the energy transition and will contribute to California's decarbonization objectives by producing renewable fuel to meet the surging needs of the aviation industry. This facility will create 100% sustainable aviation fuels using renewable feedstocks.
