Project Summary

Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB) Contractor Support Areas (CSA) for the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Program - $75M (approx.) Renovation of three (3) existing building facilities on VSFB to support the administrative and launch operations of Northrop Grumman’s GBSD program. Renovations included but were not limited to helical piles, modular cube installation, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC, elevator installation, fireproofing, and seismic retrofit of the existing building and its ancillary support. Special inspections included inspections and testing of concrete, soils, epoxy anchors, reinforcement, CMU, hot mix asphalt, and welding of structural steel in accordance with IBC Chapter 17. Quality Control Manager consisted of working with the owner representative and the field staff to ensure quality and timeliness of project construction and completion and manage the three phases of control (preparatory, Initial, and final) for all defining features of work. Quality Assurance consisted of Inspections of all work activities and defining parts of work that consisted of above and beyond special inspections IBC Chapter 17 requirements. Additional QA duties included performing internal audits and visiting source facilities for off-site fabrication inspections.
