Project Summary
This project will include the addition of two new lanes in each direction, comprising a general – purpose lane and a tolled express lane. The objective of this project is to enhance roadway safety and increase the capacity of the freeway to meet state and federal requirements. This will be achieved through a series of major works that involve improving the configuration of interchanges, constructing new bike lanes and sidewalks, and adding merge lanes and arterial street improvements. Additionally, 18 bridges will be replaced with wider ones, and sound walls will be reconstructed or added to reduce the noise levels along the 25.7km-long corridor. Partial acquisitions will also be made at certain locations to facilitate these improvements.
