Project Summary

Metro's Rail to Rail Project aims to enhance mobility and safety by transforming an abandoned railroad right-of-way into a 10.6-mile active transportation corridor. This initiative will create biking and walking paths connecting the Metro K Line Fairview Heights Station and the Metro A Line Slauson Station, facilitating new east-west pedestrian and bicycle linkages and improving access to public transit and local opportunities.
Segment A is currently under construction, with work having begun in October 2022 on the western section at 67th Street and 11th Avenue, progressing eastward toward Slauson Station. The project will include a 30-foot-wide linear park equipped with landscaping, lighting, benches, crosswalks, curb ramps, and bike crossing signals, all designed to enhance community safety, especially at high-risk intersections.
The Quality Firm plays a crucial role in ensuring the project's success through quality control management and expert testing and inspection of materials, including soils and concrete. Their efforts ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, contributing to the overall quality and effectiveness of the Rail to Rail Project. This ambitious project is a testament to local officials' commitment to improving the quality of life for residents and promoting safer, more accessible transportation options throughout the community.
