Project Summary

The Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) embarked on a project to improve and revitalize runway 25L. This project involved several key components, all aimed at improving the safety and functionality of this important runway.

First, the existing surface on the high-speed exit taxiways will be replaced with asphalt concrete. This will provide a smoother, more durable surface that can better withstand the wear and tear of constant aircraft traffic. In addition to this, the existing bridge structure will undergo surface repair. This will ensure that the bridge is in good condition and can support the weight of aircraft as they travel across it. This project will also include an upgrade to the LED airfield lighting, which will improve the visibility for pilots and other airport personnel during night operations. This is especially important for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of aircraft on the runway. Lastly, the pavement markings, striping, and grooving on the runway and guiding aircraft as they take off and land. Overall, this project will significantly improve the safety and functionality of runway 25L at LAX, helping to ensure that the airport can continue to operate smoothly and efficiently for years to come.

The Quality Firm provided a range of services designed to ensure the quality and integrity of the construction materials and process being used. These services included soils compaction testing, in which we evaluated the density and strength of soil to ensure it is suitable for ruse as a foundation and base material. We also provided concrete testing by evaluating the strength, durability, and the other properties of concrete to ensure it meets industry standards and will perform well in its intended use. In addition, we conducted asphalt compaction testing by assessing the density and strength of asphalt to ensure wit will perform well and last for a long time under the stresses of heavy traffic. To support these services, we also provided an on-site lab, which allowed us to conduct testing and analysis efficiently and effectively. Overall, these services helped to ensure the quality and durability of the construction materials and processed being used on project.
