Rail to Rail Active Transportation Corridor

Metro's Rail to Rail Project aims to enhance mobility and safety by transforming an abandoned railroad right-of-way into a 10.6-mile active transportation corridor. This initiative will create biking and walking paths connecting the Metro K Line Fairview Heights Station and the Metro A Line Slauson Station, facilitating new east-west pedestrian and bicycle linkages and improving access to public transit and local opportunities.
Segment A is currently under construction, with work having begun in October 2022 on the western section at 67th Street and 11th Avenue, progressing eastward toward Slauson Station. The project will include a 30-foot-wide linear park equipped with landscaping, lighting, benches, crosswalks, curb ramps, and bike crossing signals, all designed to enhance community safety, especially at high-risk intersections.
