Project Summary

Section 2 spans 2.6 miles from La Cienega to Century City, and Section 3 stretches 2.9 miles to the VA Hospital in Westwood. Section 2 of the D Line Subway Extension broke ground in February 2018 and is expected to open for service in 2026. Section 3 began construction in 2019 and is slated to open in 2027.

This extension will improve transit access across key areas of Los Angeles, including Beverly Hills, Century City, and Westwood. The project involves constructing twin tunnels 50-70 feet underground using the cut-and-cover method. To support the new line, 34 new heavy rail vehicles will be procured, and upgrades will be made to the Division 20 Rail Maintenance Yard. The Purple Line Extension aims to provide better connectivity, offering faster and more convenient transit options across the region. TQF is proud to support through materials testing and QC/QA inspection services.
